Assistant Professor of Psychology (Developmental), Continuing-track

Department of Psychology, Assistant Professor of Psychology. Elon University seeks applicants for a continuing track position in Developmental Science at the assistant professor level beginning mid-August 2020. Applicants should have completed or expect to complete a Ph.D. in Developmental Psychology, Developmental Neuroscience, School Psychology, or a related discipline by August 2020. Candidates with an expertise in intellectual disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, autism, ADHD, and/or atypical development are strongly encouraged to apply. Preference will be given to candidates who concentrate on age groups ranging from middle childhood to adulthood. Candidates must show evidence of high-quality teaching at the undergraduate level. The ability to maintain a sustained research agenda that actively incorporates undergraduates into one’s program of research is essential. In addition to Lifespan Development, teaching will include requirements in the major (e.g., Introduction to Psychology and Research Methods), special topics courses relating to one’s area of expertise in developmental science, and courses in the Elon Core Curriculum. Candidates who have experience working with a diverse range of people, and who can contribute to the climate of inclusivity are encouraged to identify their experiences in their cover letter.
