Assistant Professor, Industrial-Organizational Psychology

The Department of Psychology at Northern Illinois University invites applicants with expertise in industrial/organizational psychology to apply for an anticipated tenure-track appointment at the rank of assistant professor for Fall 2019.  The successful applicant will contribute to a joint social and industrial-organizational program; applicants with teaching and research interests that align with existing themes in the area (e.g., diversity/inclusion, motivation and performance, and quantitative methods) will be especially desirable.  Requirements include the Ph.D. in psychology at the time of hire, evidence of scholarly productivity commensurate with experience, potential to establish and maintain an independent program of research, and evidence of quality teaching experience/potential.  Successful candidates will be expected to supervise dissertations and theses, teach graduate and undergraduate courses, actively seek extramural funding for their research program, and serve as a role model for Ph.D. students in a program that values research, teaching, and service.

Northern Illinois University values candidates who have experience working in settings with students from diverse cultural backgrounds, and who possess a commitment to improving their access to higher education and achievement.  Further information about our program can be found at: https://niu.edu/psychology/academics/graduate/social/index.shtml.

Qualified individuals should submit a cover letter, current curriculum vitae, a statement of research vision, a statement of teaching interests, and contact information for at least three references to http://employment.niu.edu/postings/37142.  Review of completed applications will begin on 10/15/2018; however, applications will be accepted until the position is filled.  Competitive salary and benefit package.
