The Simpson College Psychology Department invites nominations and applications for a tenure-track position of Assistant Professor in Psychology to begin August 20, 2019. The position requires expertise in Human Development although core specialty is open to other areas such as Clinical or Biopsychology. A PhD or other appropriate doctoral level terminal degree in Psychology is required as is interdisciplinary interest and experience and/or expressed interest in working at a primarily residential, liberal arts institution. Teaching responsibilities include Developmental Psychology, an upper level course in the applicant’s area of interest, as well as introduction, methods, and other courses meeting general department needs. Candidates for the position must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching and a willingness to engage students in scholarship, research and/or creative work. Faculty members at Simpson College are expected to participate in faculty governance, student advising, new student recruitment and in other ways to demonstrate support for the mission of the institution.
