The Department of Psychology at Carleton College invites applications for a tenure-track position, beginning September 1, 2019, at the rank of assistant professor (PhD required). We are looking for candidates with a Ph.D. and enthusiasm about teaching in a liberal arts college environment. We are particularly interested in candidates committed to teaching a diverse student body. Candidates should have a strong research and teaching background in health psychology and neuroscience, preferably with an interest in behavioral neuroimmunology. Teaching responsibilities will include teaching introductory psychology, a mid-level health psychology course with accompanying laboratory, a mid-level behavioral neuroscience course with accompanying laboratory, an upper-level seminar in neuroscience, a first-year seminar, and supervising undergraduate research. Candidates should have a robust research program that can include undergraduate researchers.
Carleton College is a highly selective undergraduate liberal arts institution of about 2000 students, located about 45 minutes south of Minneapolis and St. Paul. Faculty teach five courses spread across three trimester terms of ten weeks each.
