Assistant Professor

 

The Department of Psychology at the University of South Dakota invites applications for a tenure-track position in Cognition and Brain Science beginning in the Fall of 2019. The candidate will deliver coursework in cognitive psychology, physiological psychology, neuroscience and specialty topics related to cognitive science and human factors psychology[PD(1]. In addition to undergraduate coursework, the candidate will be a core faculty member in the area of human factors and will contribute to the training of graduate students at the MA and PhD level. Research interests are open but candidates should be able to contribute to the development of programs in neuroscience/neuroergonomics, computational modeling, decision making, human-computer interaction and cognitive systems engineering.

 

Candidates will be expected to develop and maintain productive and programmatic research, seek extramural research funding, teach undergraduate and graduate courses both face-to-face and online, mentor undergraduate and graduate students, provide service to the department, College of Arts and Sciences, University of South Dakota and the profession. Preference will be given to candidates with a history of applied research related to human factors and those willing to develop collaborative research with the Sanford School of Medicine on neuroimaging and electrophysiological research.



Qualifications include: PhD in Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, Neuroscience or related field.


Salary/Compensation: Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.
