Psychology, Assistant Professor
We invite applications for the position of Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology with a child/family emphasis. Duties and Responsibilities: teach courses on a variety of topics (e.g., abnormal psychology, theories of counseling, basic counseling skills, treatment of children/families/couples, and research methods in psychology) and would be expected to teach in our clinical MS program, which prepares students for licensure as Marriage and Family Therapists (MFTs). Position requires excellence in teaching and advising, research and publication, and service to the Department, the College, and the University. Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology or a closely related field (e.g., Ph.D. in MFT, Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology)at time of appointment; CA licensed (or license eligible); evidence of ability to be successful at university teaching; demonstrated ability to contribute to university through teaching, research, service, and fostering an inclusive environment. Preferred/Desired Qualifications: ability to teach a broad range of undergraduate courses in psychology as well as graduate courses in treatment of children, families, and couples; ability to teach undergraduate psychology research methods; minimum of 1 year university teaching experience; current CA license as an MFT or psychologist; demonstrated ability to serve as an advisor and research mentor to a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body. Date of Appointment: beginning in 2020-2021 academic year.
