In addition, they must provide evidence of commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring at both the undergraduate and graduate levels and be able to teach new and existing classes within the Department of Psychology (e.g., Health Psychology, Research Methods, Health Disparities). The successful candidate will be expected to mentor and train graduate students in one of the Department’s five doctoral programs: (1) Applied Social and Health Psychology, (2) Cognitive Neuroscience, (3) Cognitive Psychology, (4) Counseling Psychology, and (5) Industrial and Organizational Psychology.
Preferred qualifications:
A. Commitment to and the capability of obtaining external research funding
B. Consistent with CSU and Department values, commitment to diversity, inclusion, and social justice
C. Evidence of interdisciplinary research / interest and ability to contribute to collaborations with colleagues within and outside of the Psychology Department and the College of Natural Sciences (e.g., the Colorado School of Public Health, the College of Health and Human Sciences, the One Health Institute, the Tri-Ethnic Center for Prevention Research, the Center for Healthy Aging, the Prevention Research Center, The Occupational Health Psychology training program)
D. Experience in undergraduate and/or graduate instruction and mentoring
E. Post-doctoral experience
F. Research focus that complements one or more areas of interest to the Department (e.g. addictive behaviors, environmental psychology, gender and culture, medically underserved populations, occupational health, prevention science, relationships and family, aging).
For full consideration, materials must be received by Monday, October 7, 2019. Submit application material: cover letter, curriculum vitae, three reprints or preprints publications (accompanied by letter of acceptance), statement of research interest, and teaching interests and evidence of teaching effectiveness, e-mail addresses for three referees, and a document describing your ability to advance the department’s commitment to diversity and inclusion through research, teaching and outreach with relevant programs, goals and activities on-line at:
Immediately upon submission of the on-line application, referees will be sent an email with a link for submitting the letters of reference on-line. Reference letters must be received by October 14, 2019 for an application to be considered complete.
