Antioch University New England invites applications for an Assistant Professor to teach master’s level dance/movement therapy courses, core courses shared with the master’s level marriage and family therapy program, and to supervise practicum and internship students. This position involves expectations in scholarship, teaching, service, and university citizenship, and will be on a core faculty contract.

Qualifications: PhD in Expressive Therapy, Creative Arts Therapy, or in a closely related field; Board Certified Dance/Movement Therapist with the American Dance Therapy Association (ADTA); graduate teaching experience in both face-to-face and online, and/or low-residency. (Candidates who are ABD currently in doctorate-granting programs may be considered with an expected completion date of December, 2019.)

Preferred qualifications: Expertise in at least two of the following areas: social justice and/or critical theories; research with a focus on social justice issues, multicultural issues; Kestenberg Movement Profile; competency-based assessment experience; experience in experiential education methods; interest and/or experience in training supervisors; varied clinical experience.

The DMT Program at Antioch University New England was one of the first to be accredited by the ADTA. The renewed DMT program at AUNE will be offered through two delivery options: (a) on-campus DMT courses and low-residency MFT courses; and (b) low-residency DMT and MFT courses. The expectation for this position is for the faculty member to be on-campus at least two full days/week to teach on-campus DMT courses, and during all days of DMT residencies held for a total of 15 days/year.
