School of Psychological and Behavioral Science anticipates a tenure track position at the rank of Assistant Professor in Clinical Psychology, to begin August 16, 2020.

Qualifications: Applicants must have earned their doctoral degree in Psychology from an APA- or CPA-accredited Clinical Psychology program with an APA- or CPA-accredited internship by August 15, 2020. ABD applicants will be considered if all doctoral degree requirements will be completed by August 15, 2020. If all degree requirements are not completed by that date, a term, non-tenure track appointment may be offered in accordance with University policy (http://policies.siu.edu/personnel_policies/chapter2/ch2-faps/conting.php). Candidates must have a potential for excellence in developing a funded research program and in teaching and supervision. The area of research specialization is open. Postdoctoral experience is preferred.

Because it involves supervision of clinical work, this is a security sensitive position. Before any offer of employment is made, the University will conduct a pre-employment background investigation, which includes a criminal background check.

Responsibilities: The position requires teaching a combination of graduate and undergraduate courses, specifically practicum supervision, and other courses such as: Psychological Assessment, Behavior Therapy, Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Drugs and Behavior, Personality, and Abnormal Psychology. Scholarly productivity is expected. There are opportunities to collaborate with colleagues specializing in the areas of clinical neuroscience, acceptance and commitment therapy, behavior genetics, substance abuse, anxiety, mindfulness, child and adult therapy and assessment.
