Position Description: The Department of Psychology at The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) invites applications for a non-tenure-track, 9-month full-time faculty position to begin as early as August 19, 2019. Academic Rank will be Assistant Professor or Associate Professor, depending on experience. The teaching load for this position is four courses per semester. Teaching assignments will include general courses such as Introduction to Psychology and Research Methods, in both online and traditional formats, with additional courses based upon the candidate's area of specialization.
Position Requirements: The person selected for this position must have a Ph.D. in Psychology. Preferred candidates will be able to teach a variety of courses at the undergraduate level (either in the classroom, online, or both). Candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching. The salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Department Overview: The department has 56 faculty with one of the largest undergraduate programs on campus supporting more than 1,100 undergraduate students, with 100 students enrolled in the online program and more than 200 students in the Undergraduate Neuroscience Program, an interdisciplinary program. The department offers a Departmental Honors Program and more than 35% of our undergraduate students participate in mentored research.
