Assistant or Associate Professor in ABA

The Faculty of Education at Western University invites applications for a full-time faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor (probationary) or Associate Professor (probationary or tenured) in Applied Behaviour Analysis. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. The preferred starting date for this position is January 1, 2020, but is negotiable.

We seek outstanding candidates with a strong commitment to excellence in research, teaching, and service and a demonstrated ability to engage with and contribute to the relevant local, national, and international communities. The responsibilities of the successful candidate will include teaching in the Master of Professional Education program in Applied Behaviour Analysis, teaching and research supervision in the doctoral and master’s programs in School and Applied Child Psychology, and possibly teaching in the Bachelor of Education program. The successful applicant will show evidence of an ongoing program of research and publication in applied behaviour analysis, which is supported by external research funding, or likely to attract external funding. She/he will have experience in supervising practitioners in the field of applied behaviour analysis, and preferably experience in supervising the research of graduate students. She/he will have a view of the profession as reflecting a scientist-practitioner orientation, and a commitment to developing practitioners and researchers who possess a thorough knowledge of current evidence-based theory and practice. It will be important to contribute to a collegial and lively scholarly environment, and to participate in community service in the Faculty of Education and the broader community.

Required Qualifications:

• An earned doctorate in Applied Behaviour Analysis, psychology, education or a related field;

• Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA) certification or eligible for certification;

• Evidence of an active research program, including publications and funding, in the field of applied behaviour analysis;

Preferred Qualifications:

• Board Certified Behaviour Analyst, Doctoral (BCBA-D);

• Registered, or eligible for registration, with the College of Psychologists of Ontario.
