Assist the ector in management of Counseling and Psychological Services. Coordinates all aspects of American Psychological Association (APA) accredited doctoral internship program; Performs evaluation, diagnosis, and psychotherapy for the most difficult and complex cases. Provides leadership for and participates actively in urgent care and after hours on-call schedules. Responds and guides and supports other clinicians in response to campus emergencies and crisis situations. Actively supports mental health outreach efforts; and serves on University committees. Counseling & Psychological Services is a Health and Psychological Student Services (HAPSS) department and supports student success through optimization of emotional and physical health, through ect service, education, and provision of resources and referrals.
Master's degree in related area or equivalent experience.
Required doctorate degree (Psy.D or Ph.D) in clinical psychology or counseling
Licensed in a behavioral health counseling discipline.
Current valid licensure by the CA Board of Psychology OR current licensure in another state with a requirement to obtain CA licensure in accordance with the CA Board of Psychology requirements for continued practice in the state of California.
Minimum of 6 years of related experience.
Demonstrated experience in working with diverse populations including but not limited to African American, Asian/Pacific Islander, Latino/Latina, international, first-generation, veterans, student with disabilities, and LGBTQ.
Previous supervisory/managerial experience.
Minimum of 5 years experience providing clinical supervision to doctorate level trainees
Frequent evening and weekend hours and expectation of availability after hours to serve the occasional emergent needs of students and campus challenges/crises.
Knowledge of business
software, specialized applications and EHR systems used in behavioral health
Demonstrated ability to prioritize and meet deadlines in a complex, challenging environment.
Strong interpersonal skills to develop and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Demonstrated knowledge of behavioral health counseling methods and techniques,crisis intervention, treatment planning and case management.
Demonstrated supervisory skills to guide behavioral health providers on treatment methods.
Ability to organize operations in an efficient and effective manner.
Verbal and written communication skills to effectively communicate. Demonstrated active listening, persuasion and counseling skills.
Strong knowledge of applicable federal, state and local laws, rules and regulations.
Working knowledge of
human resources management practices and policies.
