Assistant/Associate Professor or rank commensurate with experience, CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST. The Department of Psychiatry at the University of Illinois at Chicago is seeking a licensed psychologist for an immediately available clinician-educator position, academic rank commensurate with experience. The candidate should have active teaching and clinical interest and be competent in the delivery of evidence- based psychotherapy. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and teaching experience (e.g., clinical supervision). Interest and expertise in other evidence-based psychotherapies (e.g., Cognitive Processing Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) is desired. The successful candidate will join a productive multi-disciplinary team of clinicians and researchers in the Adult Mood and Anxiety Program, with ample opportunities for collaboration. Experience and interest in teaching and supervising psychology interns and externs, medical students, and residents is essential. We are one of the largest Psychiatry departments in the Midwest, with a nationally-recognized Clinical Internship Training Program, General Psychiatry Residency Training Program and several fellowships, including Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Addictions, Neuropsychiatry and Women’s Mental Health fellowships. Our Department is nationally known for clinical research in anxiety and mood disorders, psychosis, late life depression, autism, addictions, mental health services, and women’s mental health.
The primary responsibilities for this position will involve providing evidenced based therapy services for adults with mood and anxiety disorders, as well as teaching and supervising psychology externs, interns, post-doctoral fellows, and psychiatry residents. Research collaborations are highly encouraged.
The successful candidate will join a productive multi-disciplinary team of clinicians known to work well together. Candidates must be licensed or license eligible in Illinois. Individuals holding a doctoral degree from an APA accredited graduate program and who have completed an APA accredited internship will be given fullest consideration.
