Assistant / Associate Professor in Organizational / Social Psychology


The Department of Psychological Science and the Graduate Program in Industrial and Organizational Psychology at Northern Kentucky University invite applicants for the position of Assistant / Associate Professor in Organizational / Social Psychology preferably with a demonstrated research focus on diversity issues in organizational settings. The position will begin in August 2019 and is part of a cluster hire in the lege of Arts and Sciences.  

 

Northern Kentucky University is a large comprehensive institution located in the greater Cincinnati metropolitan region having a population of 2.1 million residents and a substantial corporate / business presence. The successful applicant will present two graduate seminars each semester in Organizational Psychology, Organizational Change, Social Cognition in the Workplace, or Industrial and Organizational Psychology and one undergraduate course in Social, Industrial/Organizational, or related areas of Psychology, depending on expertise. 

 

Completion of all Ph.D. requirements by August 1, 2019 is strongly preferred. Those completing requirements after this date will be eligible for a one-year contract. Candidates are expected to  engage graduate and undergraduate students in applied organizational research and teach effectively at both the undergraduate and graduate level.

 

The Department of Psychological Science offers a legial work environment that reflects an empirically-oriented, theory-driven approach to teaching, research, and scholarship. While the undergraduate program enrolls 450 psychology majors, the M.S. program in IO Psychology enrolls 40 graduate students in a quantitatively rigorous, full-time program. The three tenured/tenure track faculty in the IO master's program present graduate seminars, ect thesis research, and oversee practicum projects. To accommodate both full-time students and employed incumbents, graduate seminars are offered on campus during weekday evenings in the fall and spring semesters, which provides opportunities to consult and conduct research with organizations during daytime hours.
